Job description Project Engineer

 

The responsibilities of this Project Engineer position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Project Engineer will be responsilble to ensure that HSE requirements are systematically considered all along the design process and in particular that HAZID/HAZOP/PTR project audits results are all well integrated into the Jackets and Topsides design.
  • Attend major interface meetings, internal and external with FEED Contractors, Packages Contractors, Vendors, COMPANY specialists, Partner’s experts, etc. Ensuring all interfaces aspects are well cascaded into the jackets & topsides design dossier.
  • Assist the Package Managers at all project phases with reporting, meetings organisation and attendance with tenderers and/or local authorities, project schedule follow-up. Also ensuring of all project technical correspondences are duly answered.
  • Monitoring at all stages of the project development the Nigerian content plan / requirements are well followed. Will be accountable for duly reporting of Nigerian content for the jackets & topsides and Offshore Works package.
  • Project Engineer will monitor and follow-up of tenders technical queries and qualifications during CFT process including COMPANY answers. Ensuring all clarifications and agreed qualifications are included into relevant contract exhibits. Including management of changes. Ensuring no impact on other packages or assessment of impact and coordination of changes implementation (if agreed) with other packages.
  • Consolidate and advise Package Manager(s) of any schedule & commercial issues arising from changes. Shall be the coordinator of the Management of Change, providing the justification through all disciplines of the change. Ensure complete documentation of all changes, and communication of these in compliance with the Company process and the processes agreed with Partners and regulatory authorities.
  • Assist the Package Managers, during the Call for Tender phase (and later during onshore and offshore construction phase), by anticipating potential schedule issues.

HSE Requirements:

  • Project Engineer will support and enforce the HSEQ Project objectives and directives.
  • Support and implement the Project HSEQ management system (plans, procedures and specifications).
  • In particular ensure HSE aspects specific to the Jackets & topsides and Offshore Works package are all addressed also ensuring results of HAZID/HAZOP/PTR project audits are managed and duly taken into account.

 

Requirements Project Engineer

 

  • Project Engineer will have MSc/BSc in engineering (such as Mechanical Engineering, Wells & Drilling Engineering, Civil Engineering, Ocean & Subsea Engineering, preferred).
  • Ideally the candidate will be also a chartered Engineer (such as CEng MICE).
  • Minimum 15 years experience in the industry (preferably with practice of Oil & Gas industry for offshore and subsea works).
  • Experience working as a Project Engineer with responsibilities including small team management and construction / fabrication site experience.
  • Sound knowledge of international design codes / standards.

 

Terms & Conditions Project Engineer

 

  • Work Schedule – 6/2 weeks rotation
  • Initially 12 months (Option to extend).
  • For this position, preference will be given to Nigerian nationals. In case Expatriate candidate(s) are selected it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy.
