Jigawa council raises crime control panel

IN a bid to curb the rate of criminal activities, Kiyawa Local Council of Jigawa State has inaugurated a crime control stakeholders’ committee.

The committee, which was established at the instance of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Theophilus, is to be replicated in all the 27 local councils of the state.

The council chairman, Alhaji Dahiru Madaki Katuka, who spoke at the inauguration of the committee, assured members and the security agents working in the area of his council’s financial support at all times.

Katuka expressed commitment to maintaining the existing peace and security in the area. The state Commissioner of Police solicited the support and cooperation of the general public to assist the police in the area.

According to him, the police cannot do the work alone, no matter the hard work and commitment, without the assistance and cooperation of the public.
