Oil firm partners host community on development

TOTAL Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (TEPNG) has signed the partnership agreement it renewed with the Egi community in Ogba Egbema /Ndoni Council of Rivers State.

The Managing Director of Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria, Mr. Guy Maurice said the renewed signing of   Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) followed series of workshop that identified innovative ways for capacity development and continued improvement of the welfare of the people.

He said the agreement covered a film factory being built by the community at Obagi , as well as deliverables like employment, agriculture, empowerment , scholarship, entrepreneurial support and welfare.

While expressing hope that the programmes and projects in the agreement would address issues of poverty in the area, Maurice promised that the company would implement the terms in the agreement.

He added: “I assure all stakeholders that we shall abide by the terms of this agreement and ensure implementation while believing that all parties to the agreement will play their own part to achieve the gains expected”.
