Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha declares war on kidnappers

IMO State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, has declared war on kidnappers and other criminals in the state, saying “it is now fire for fire.”

Okorocha, who spoke against the backdrop of continued cases of kidnapping and armed robbery in the state, warned unrepentant kidnappers, “henceforth it will be fire for fire.”

According to him, “I want to state that one of the challenges we have had as a state has been insecurity, especially kidnapping. The time is up for the kidnappers.”

He assured the citizenry that “there will be no more kidnapping anywhere again in the state because we have taken the necessary measures to curb the menace. Now, we have resolved to march fire for fire.”

Okorocha lamented that his appeals to kidnappers and armed robbers to repent from their criminal activities and engage in meaningful activities fell on deaf ears.

It will be recalled that Imo State had been under siege, especially from the beginning of this year and despite the huge monetary reward of N1 million announced by the state government for any person that gives credible information that would lead to the arrest of kidnappers and armed robbers.

Government equally purchased and equipped several Toyota Hilux vans and distributed to security agencies operating in the state.
