Plans to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan by members of the House of Representatives will be kicked off following the president’s perceived failure to achieve 100% budget implementation. The lawmakers have accused the President of breaching the 2012 Appropriation Act and poorly executing the budget. He has therefore been given up to September to achieve “100% execution” of the budget or face impeachment proceedings.
This amendment was proposed by the minority leader of the house Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, who received a resounding applause from the majority of members at Thursday’s session. According to Gbajabiamila, “If by September 18, the budget performance has not improved to 100%, we shall begin to invoke and draw up articles of impeachment against Mr. President.” And to this, the majority f the members present gave a resounding “yes, yes, yes”!!!
Meanwhile, the presidency has coolly responded to the development through the spokesperson in person of Reuben Abati. Abati insists that President Jonathan had made it clear several times that his administration placed a premium on performance.
Abati said, “The House and the presidency are on the same page on budget implementation. Just as the house is concerned, Mr. President is concerned too… What happened today in the House was ironic and a big coincidence because two ministries, interior and police affairs, were in the Villa today to make presentations on their key performance index.” He added that budget implementation was a process and that the process of implementing the 2012 budget was ongoing.”
is better they divide dis country, wheda impeach or not, d prob continuous.9ja is biga dan anyone to rule.anyway, all dis plan are frm nothernas, d boko haram dem.

This is really a planned game which our presido has to understand. The whole thing started with killing and bombing so as to distract and delay his focus in the implementation of his campain promises. May God help jonathan and Nigeria.
Dis is a bullshit story… Members of d house just need 2be beefed up wit MULLAH in ecolac…and ghanamustgo bags… Den all dey wil do is to kip dia mouth shut.. Wia has a president been impeached in Nigeria… Better focus on BOKO HARAM instead of hw to impeach Mr president…
We need peace and unity, just oppotunity in our country
What are they waiting for na???????
Abeg let d impeachment process begins, i am sick and tired of dis mad man dat calls himself our president.
The House is simply a bunch of indisciplined old rascals. I really pity the House Speaker who is making a mockery of himself and the House. Can’t they learn from the Senators who are acting like matured and disciplined men and women
Nigerian need to wake and stop belivin in this politician instead of them to impeach d president why cant dey impeach d boko haram.rubbish
To me, mr president should resign imediately 2 avoid al dis embarasement given 2 dis giant nation. Mr president reasoning is very obsolate 4 him 2 say we should suspend job and electricity 4 security. Mind u, if, it means d remaining ministries are not relevant and d whole ministers exept ministry of defence. Direct or Indirect d man is telling us dat he has fed up. The cause of dis insecurity are poverty unemployment and hunger etc. D first thing 2 do is 2 create employment 4 our youth and see whether d crime wil not go down.
Drama!Drama!!Drama!
who’re those in the house talkn about impeachn Mr. P. Let them first check themselves before another. the Monies given to u 4 ur consitutencies dey belong 2, are they using it rightfully?
we r tired of both d Presidency, d house n senators… Dis country is too large 2 be control by any group or leader.. Division is d best, am tired of one Nigeria. Impeachment is nt d solution. Tink! Tink!! Tink!!!

Unity and faith, peace and progress. Pls let this our guide.
The nig.house of reps.were doing their work compared to senate.Jonathan had lost concentrations .He is a reluntant President.
To plan to fail is to fail to plan i hope impeach is the best way to took nigeria to right way.
President Jonathan has jailed in all ramification,I saw one Igbo clamouring for division of the country, was it not the Ndi Igbo and their selfishness that led to the elusive civil war ever exprienced in this country,in short you got nothing to show and boast of.He the president said he will cede the presidency to an Igbo man come 2015,now he is talking of contesting. It was nothern money that was used to build all those refineries. You no say when to issues as this.
U are very right tijjani. Moreover, very soon the crude in d south will finish. When that happen at least we have our farmlands.
The president should be given more time, and i never blame the house for the inpeachment move,in as much as is in accordance with the law of the land,no body above the law be who u (house of representative membs).I will urge my president to embrace nd push foward a space for dialogue in tackling the present security challenges in the country, wich resauted to the delay in implimenting the bubget, an his (jonathan)name will everly remains in the history of peace making unlike the late president (umaru yaradua)….God blessed Nigeria.
Prince nd Tijuana or whatever u might cal ur self who knows mayb u guys re workin d bono haram,mr p must not b impeach 4 it has never Ben done b4.Again I think division is best thing.
Infact, Mr President seems 2 lack vision & lost focus by ignoring d youth/power supply. No wonder, notherners promised him that they’ll make Nigeria ungovernable 4 him throughout his admin & it’s happening! My people can somebody tell me we’re one or there’s unity? Not.
This is ridiculous, what do they expect from a President that is been control my some cabal?
however, how can the country minimize insecurity when youth aren’t employed?
Will IMPEACHMENT be the answer to these entire catastrophes in Nja? Are we moving forward or backward?
I can’t understand the difficulties of having stable electricity in this nation; can you apprehend the interest of global investors without a stable electricity supply and security?
Is regressively abysmal that our country Nigeria still lack infrastructures ” technologies innovations, Education, health care, security etc, but then we claim to be giant, when other small country are well organized.
Legislative looters/rascals and other political cabal in the Aso rock, please wake up, because the total failures of Good luck administration is your hands, (Impeachment isn’t the answer) we the youth aren’t happy and I’m pretty sure no body want to tears for the country.
i regretted casting my vote for jonathan,i voted jonathan and not PDP and yet the man is acting PDP,if removing him will take Nigeria to the next level, i support the move whole heartedly
if you guys thought we dot know wtaup just try the impeachment and see, all Nigerians must understand that mr p is not the first on this seat, now tell me when Nigeria problems started? no road, no electricity Nigerians are in jails round the whole world, is mr p the first to rule Nigeria? its a sham to the people that dreams abt impeachment, I m writing outside the country, try it and see the drama.

it is obvious dat some pple r talkin as if de r illitrate.cumin of GEJ as d president of nigeria we start xperiencin bomb blast in d north, removal of oil subsidy, minimum wage has nt been paid in many states,d worst budget i hav ever seen in my life witout implementatn rather selectin ministries as a budget implementatn.this is inmatured president we had in dis country.GEJ is nt capable to lead dis country to d promisin land.pls nigerians we need a leader not ruler,we need transparency.he should cum out nd tell nigerians dat nigeria has no money to fund any budget.
if impeachment by d house of nigeria wil save dis country from dis mess or if he fails to implement d 2012 budget,i tink impeachment is d best tin to do dos wu r nt supportin should go hell.dividin nigeria wil nt mek northern region go poor afta all de build dos refinery frm our agriculture.we stil av fertile land to farm.dos wu r sayin dividin nigeria wil be better dnt be a fool.northern region has resources too.
