Powerlifter Grace Anozie added yet another gold to Nigeria’s growing haulage at the London 2012 Paralympics after beating seven other contestants in the women’s +82.50kg class at the ExCel centre on Wednesday.
According to Anozie who won bronze eight years ago at the Athens 2004 Olympics and Silver, four years ago at the Beijing Olympics said, “I feel good. I’ve been fighting for years to get my hands on that gold medal. In Beijing I was robbed, but here I didn’t want that to happen.” Speaking further, she asserted, “London is too cold and it didn’t allow my muscles to warm up properly. In training I have lifted more than 168kg.”
Despite the win, Team Nigeria still lie at the 12th spot in the medals ranking with six gold, five silver and one bronze medal.
