Manchester United In Stunning £55m Summer Bid For Former Striker, Cristiano Ronaldo

ronaldo1According to the Daily Star, Manchester United is preparing a big money move to re-sign their former forward, Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Ronaldo’s future at the Bernabeu has been shrouded in uncertainty with speculation that Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez has lost his patience on his most prized asset and is ready to listen to offers after it emerged that he refused to sign a new longer term contract.

The 28 year old is also reportedly unhappy with life at Real Madrid and with Jose Mourinho certain to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season, the Old Trafford side may feel they can tempt the Portuguese goal machine back to the club that made him such a delight today – and they hope to achieve that feat with a stunning package worth £55 million.

The former Sporting Lisbon man spent six seasons at Manchester United, racking up a total 118 goals in 292 appearances and winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League in the process – a feat that earned him the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2009.

Ronaldo was sold to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for a world record fee of £80m and has gone on to score an astonishing 183 goals in 181 appearances for Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford for the first time since his departure for a crucial second leg tie in the Champions League last 16 round in a fortnight.
