“Single Term Pact” was an Attempt to Blackmail Jonathan not to Contest in 2011 – Political Group

jonathan_goodluck3-300x225The Southern Mandate, a political group, has said on Tuesday that it has investigated the said claim of pact between President Jonathan and the governors of the PDP and confirmed that there was nothing like a pact. A member of the Board of Directors of the group, Mr Tito Zuokumor told the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja that the president never signed any single term pact with governors.

His words: “I challenge them to produce the pact. We also challenge the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) which has made statements on the matter to show proof of the said pact and also provide video evidence of the meeting that led to the pact.

“What is true is that there is no single term pact between the President and the PDP governors. This is how they attempted to blackmail Jonathan not to contest the 2011 election, based on alleged pact over the zoning formula. Now they have started again,” he said.

According to him, the group has confirmed that Jonathan never signed any pact on single term, adding that in all its investigations, Jonathan also has never said he will not seek re-election whether in Ethiopia or Uganda as claimed in the media by his political opponents.
