Dreams do come true, they say, and it was so for a 16-year-old boy when the Make-A-Wish Foundation made it possible for him to meet his favourite top world wrestler and WWE superstar John Cena in Doha, Qatar
Fahd Al Shehhi expressed his extreme delight at meeting Cena after the foundation made all the necessary arrangements for him to meet the world wrestler who was in Doha last week to participate in the WWE Raw.
Cena, apart from being a WWE superstar has also had his break in Hollywood, featuring in movies such as 12 Rounds and Legendary. Cena also raps.
Al Shehni met with Cena who gave him two ‘Never Give Up’ shirts and a cap, and also discussed wrestling with him.
Fahd, who has suffered from kidney failure for many years, said that he was dreaming of meeting Cena and longing to see him as he is one of the top wrestlers in the world.
“Cena was very nice to me and signed his name on the shirt he dedicated to me as a gift,” Al Shehni said.
The Grade 10 pupil who schools in Ajman is being treated at a Dubai hospital and is one of hundreds of sick children for which the foundation is seeking to fulfil wishes.
The Make-A-Wish foundation is one of the world’s leading children’s charities, with branches in 48 countries on five continents. Since 1980, it has granted almost 300,000 wishes to youngsters around the world.
The Make-A-Wish Emirates’ branch, with offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their human experience with hope, strength and joy, and has made dreams come true for more than 600 children in the UAE since it was set up in 2003.
