Dear Jay,
I’ve been with my boyfriend for two years now but I recently met this new guy who swept me off my feet. He is romantic and generous. He is always taking me out and buying me gifts. I think I’m in love with him.
The problem is that I love my boyfriend too. He’s a good guy and he hasn’t done anything wrong. I just can’t afford to hurt him. I’m really in a fix and I don’t know what to do. Please help!

Dear Confused,
The situation you’re in is actually quite simple so relax. The truth is, it’s actually up to you. Someone once said that advice is what you ask for when you already know the answer to a question but you wish you didn’t.
The fact is that you know what to do but let me spell it out. You said yourself that your boyfriend didn’t do anything wrong and that you still love him. You’ve been with him for two years so you definitely know him better than you know this new guy.
You don’t know what the other guy will be like in 2 years. Don’t be deceived by his behaviour now. The grass always looks greener on the other side. If he gets you, he’s very likely to change.
My advice to you is to forget about the new guy and focus on your relationship. Don’t sacrifice an established love for a new one. I know it won’t be easy but it’s the right thing to do and you know it too. I wish you the very best.
Love Always,
Jay…
