State of Emergency: JTF Impose 24 Hours Curfew In Parts Of Maiduguri

Nigerian-ArmyAs Nigerian troops intensify their hunt for terrorists and members of the Boko Haram sect in Borno State, the Joint Task Force on Saturday imposed a 24 hours curfew in places identified as flash points of Maiduguri,the state capital.

In a statement made available to journalists, the spokesman of the JTF, Lt-Col. Sagir Musa, said movement in the affected areas would be restricted for an indefinite time.

‪The text reads: “The Joint Task Force (JTF), in order to sustain the ongoing special operations in the face of recent Boko Haram attacks in some areas within Maiduguri metropolis is imposing 24 hours curfew with effect from today, Saturday 18th May 2013.

“The 24 hours curfew is hereby imposed in the following wards and areas: Gamboru, Mairi Kuwait, Bakin Kogi, Kasuwan Shanu, Ruwan Zafi, 202-Quarters, Dikwa Lowcost Sinner, 504-Housing Estate, Chad Basin, 303-Estate and Baga Road areas”.

  1. @Don, u can imagine d Giant taking a nap when he is supposed to defend its territory. Afta this tenure I’m sorry but this giant would be relieved of his protection detail to avoid stories dat touch d heart like this one..
