Szczesny Believes Spurs Doesn’t Have the Capacity to make it to the Champions League Ahead of the Gunners.

Wojciech Szczesny has told his team- mates that Tottenham Hotspur ‘do not have enough quality’ to finish ahead of Arsenal in the top four.

A late Gareth Bale goal gave Tottenham a 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday and temporarily lifted them back into the Champions League places, but Arsenal and Chelsea won by the same scoreline in their respective games against Queens Park Rangers and Manchester United as Andre Villas-Boas’ men dropped back to fifth.

Spurs travel to Chelsea on Wednesday as the pair play out their game in hand over the Gunners, and an away victory would take Arsenal’s fate out of their own hands, but Szczesny feels his side have little to fear from their North London rivals.

“I was convinced that Tottenham had drawn 0-0 against Southampton,” Szczesny told Arsenal Player. “I only found out after the game that they had won 1-0, but I don’t think it matters really.

“If we win our next two games it will be enough because either Chelsea or Spurs will drop points because they play each other. If you look at Chelsea’s fixtures, they have Tottenham and Everton left and they won’t be easy games – and Tottenham do not have enough quality, so there you go…”

Arsenal take on relegation battlers Wigan and Newcastle in their final two games of the season, and Szczesny would happily accept a repeat of the 1-0 victory over QPR.

“I’d settle for another two 1-0s for the rest of the season and a place in the top three,” he said. “Hopefully it will be back to the old days and hopefully we will get back to winning trophies as well.”
