The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reacted to a comment credited to the National Publicity Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in which he insinuated that about 12 governors of the PDP had signified interest to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying none of its responsible governors will defect to the yet-to-be registered party.
PDP admitted that it was going through some challenges at the moment but added those challenges were surmountable.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, stated made this known in an interview with a national daily.
Metuh said it was wrong for Lai Mohammed to have conceived the idea that PDP governors would defect to the APC as he said, “APC is not an alternative to the PDP. APC is a party of extremists, party of religious bigots and tribal jingoists. It is a party doomed to fail.”
