Kano Police Command Dismiss 20 Officers, Demote 20 Others

NPF20 police officers have been dismissed, while another 20 have been demoted by the Kano state Police Command for various kinds of official misconducts ranging from corruption to misfiring and incivility towards members of the public.

This was contained in a statement yesterday issued by spokesman of the command, ASP Magaji Musa Majiya, who also announced that a total of 108 officers have been tried since the current Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Musa Daura assumed office in February 2013.

He said apart from those dismissed and demoted officers, 33 more police officers have received “punishment of major entries,” two remanded, while 33 others were given warning letters.

“With this, the command wishes to assure the general public that the current administration will not condone any form of indiscipline and corruption from among our personnel,” the statement read.

“We therefore advise you to report any negative conduct of police at any duty post through the public complaint bureau numbers: 08057959393, 08031803555 and 08066628450,” the statement added
