Etubom Essien Cobham, the father of Cross River State Deputy Governor, Mr. Efiok Cobham, who was abducted from his Creek Country home in Odukpani Local Government Area by unknown gunmen last Friday, has been released by his captors.

This was contained in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Hogan Bassey, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP.

He, however, did not provide details as to whether any ransom was paid or the deputy governor’s father was released of the captor’s freewill.

DSP Bassey simply said, “Pa Cobham has been released. He was released due to pressure from the police.”
