The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Tuesday said the purported attack on the Minister of Aviation – Ms. Stella Oduah’s vehicle is yet to be established as an assassination attempt on her life since she was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The FCT police image maker, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Altine Daniel said “The driver claimed there was an attack on the vehicle which is still being investigated by the police”, adding that a ballistic examination of a metallic object connected to the incident shows that it is not a bullet as initially suspected.

DSP Daniel also noted that the incident occurred at about 10 pm on Friday, but was only reported to the police on Monday.

It would be recalled that media aide to the minister, Joel Obi on Monday told reporters that there was an assassination attempt on Ms. Oduah’s life when her vehicle was fired at three times around the Ministers’ Hill area, in highbrow Maitama District, Abuja.

The minister is currently under media spotlight following her investigation by a presidential panel as well as the House of Representatives for authorising the purchase of two bullet proof cars not approved in this year’s budget and reportedly at an inflated cost.
