CHAN 2014 Buildup: Four New Players Get Keshi’s Nod as Two Others Face Exit.

As activities in the Super Eagles Team B training camp reaches cross road, the technical crew, led by Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has commenced the elimination by substitution process aimed at strengthening the squad.

Two players left the Abuja camp on Wednesday afternoon while four new ones were called up.

The two players dropped are Bayelsa United’s midfielder Mohammed Ajia and defender, Reuben Ogbonnaya of El-Kanemi Warriors.

The four players expected to immediately join the squad are Bendel Insurance duo of Obannu Erhune and Ikeleji Bello. Others are Warri Wolves midfielder, Ewenike Achibi and Mfon Udoh, who recently switched to Enyimba FC from Akwa United.

Head coach, Keshi, who spoke through his assistant, Daniel Amokachi, said the crew needed to quickly identify tournament materials due to the tight schedule between now and next month’s kick-off.

A test match between the home-based Eagles and Niger Tornadoes of Minna has been scheduled for Wednesday while another practice match comes up on Saturday, both at the main-bowl of the National Stadium.

From all indication, more players who fail to measure up with the coaches’ assessments will be shown the way out by the weekend as preparation for Nigeria’s debut CHAN appearance nears its peak.
