In a statement released in Abeokuta, the state capital, Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi explained that the raid was done as a follow up to the command’s  earlier determination to rid the state of hoodlums and reduce criminality to its barest minimum.

“The Ogun State Police command has intensified raid of black spots or criminal hideouts all over the state where almost 70 suspects were arrested weekend.

“The raids were directed by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye and coordinated by the Deputy Commissioner  of Police in charge Operations, DCP Mohammed Abdulkadir as  one of the strategies adopted by the command to make the state inhabitable for hoodlums,” Adejobi said.
