United States Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, Linda Thomas Greenfield, Monday expressed her government’s readiness to work with Nigeria and state governments in the country to help them address security problems bedeviling the nation.

According to Greenfield the September 11 terror experience is still with the American people; the country therefore understands what terrorism does to a nation.

Speaking during a courtesy call to the governor of Kano state, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso at the Government House in Kano, she told the governor that she was in Kano to ensure more cordial relationship with the state government in fighting terrorism and extremism.

She promised that the US government would assist the state and other Northern states who suffered from terrorism attacks in the last two years not only on the security issues but on economic and social development.
