APC Demands Extension Of Voters’ Registration Exercise In Osun

apc-logoThe Ousn State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has pleaded with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to extend the voters’ registration exercise which came to a close on Monday.

Osun APC’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi, made the appeal while stating the party’s position on the conduct of the exercise yesterday in Osogbo, the state capital.

Mr. Oyatomi said the call for extension of the exercise became necessary following the disruption by political thugs in some areas thereby denying many prospective voters their chances of registering for the forthcoming elections.

The Osun governorship elections has been slated for Saturday, August 9, 2014.

“From day one of the exercise, thugs had disrupted the exercise in several registration centres across the state even up till Monday, the last day of the exercise.

“All the crisis-ridden centres should be allowed to open for more days with the protection of security agents to enable those who are yet to register to do so”, he said.

  1. I also appeal to INEC to extend the period of that registration exercise, because the period allocated for the exercise was not enough to let all interested citizen partake in the exercise, even some osun people that away to Osun are take pain to come down to the state for this registration so they can have opportunity of select their choice in coming gubernatorial election in 9th of August, 2014. Please let our appeal be granted.
