Immigrations Recruitment: We Didn’t Ask Applicants To Write Exams In Their States

The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro has described as unfounded rumours that the ministry instructed applicants to write the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) aptitude test scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow) at their various states of origin.

Addressing Journalists in Abuja, the minister said clarification had become necessary because of distortions and misinformation on social media.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we started this process some months back and having literally overcome some of the initial obstacles, the aptitude test for the enlistment of men to the NIS will take place on Saturday in various centres across the country and the FCT.

“It is not the instruction of the ministry of interior that everybody should go to his or her various state of origin to write the examination, this will negate our initial decision to go online to conduct this exercise, to avoid the risk of long transportation and travel and to avoid a risk of spending too much into enlistment into the service.”

A message from organisers of the examination, CDFIB-NIS to mobile phones of the applicants reads: “Exams into Nigeria Immigration Service holds Sat, Mar 15,2014 at 7am in your preferred Exam State. Contact your state command for more info.”

The minister however said his ministry gave no such directives as writing as applicants writing exams in their states.
