Lucy, Immigration Recruitment Exercise Victim In P/Harcourt Laid To Rest

One of the 20 applicants killed during a stampede at a recruitment exercise weekend has been laid to rest. The applicant simply identified as Lucy, was one of four job-seekers at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt center of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, recruitment test, which took place simultaneously nationwide, who died as a result of poor crowd management.

She was buried by her family amid tears in her home town in Akwa-Ibom State on Monday.

Lucy, a lady said to be in her 30’s, lived at “German Butcher”, Elelenwo in Port-Harcourt. Plans were in motion for her marriage before the cold hands of death snatched her away on Saturday, family and friends disclosed.
