NIS Recruitment Tragedy: No Sacred Cows, Cover Ups – Mark

Nigeria-Immigration-ServiceSenate President David Mark on Thursday vowed that there would be no sacred cows nor a cover up of the tragic Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recruitment, which resulted in the death of over 12 applicants about a fortnight ago.

Mark spoke at the inauguration of a two-day public hearing on the botched NIS recruitment in Abuja.

Represented by Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, the senate president described the death of the applicants as an “unfortunate and embarrassing incident”.

He told the Senator Atiku Bagudu-led Interior Committee to do its all to unravel the circumstances that led to the stampede which led to the deaths and injury on several applicants as well as who was responsible for what.

  1. we will get to know how sincere this statement is when the investigations are concluded and the recommendations come in. we are aware that the minister is mark’s candidate and we want to see what will happen even now that there are seriuosly compelling allegations against the minister by other board members of NIS.
