AIG Meets Security Agencies, Political Party Leaders In Kano Ahead Of Jonathan’s Visit

policeAhead of President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to Kano State next week Tuesday, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, in charge of Zone 1, Alhaji Tambari Yabo Mohammed, yesterday met with heads of security agencies and political parties’ chieftains in the state.

The president is expected in Kano where he would address a political rally and formally admit ex-governor of the state, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, to the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Those in attendance at the security meeting were representatives of Commander 339 Air based service of the Nigerian Air force, Kano, 3rd Brigade Commander, Director of State Security Service, Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and that of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Also at the meeting were Chairmen of All Progressive Congress APC, Peoples Party of Nigeria PPN and Labour Party LP. However, no representative of the PDP was in attendance.

Speaking to journalist after the meeting, AIG Mohammed said it was part of security strategy to ensure Mr. President’s visit was hitch free.

He added that all security agencies in the state are practically prepared to receive President Jonathan in Kano.
