UN Thanks Nigeria For Being The First To Implement The UN Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty, ATT

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has said that his nations backs the April 23 implementation of United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty, ATT.

The president made this known at a three-day National Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Illicit Arms and Light Weapons which took place at the Nations capital Abuja.

He was represented by the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro who said that the choice of ATT was really in the best interest of Africa.

ECOWAS Commission president Kadre Ouedraogo also backed the move saying it was the best African achievement since the creation of the UN.

Kadre Ouedraogo was represented by the ECOWAS Commissioner for Finance Khadi Saccoh and they thanked Nigeria for being the First nation to ratify the treaty.
