Chibok Women Cry For Help, Want Relocation

Chibok Women Monday called on well-meaning Nigerians to help them and their children relocate from their village.

In a telephone conversation with journalists at a press briefing organised by Gabasawa Women and Macedonian Initiative, the women said they have relocated to the bush for fear of being killed by Boko Haram following threat by members of the sect that they were going to invade the community again, warning residents to vacate their homes.

The women painted the ugly picture of how their children are dying of snake bites in the bush and how their husbands are being killed in their farmlands.

A member on the board of Gabasawa women, Rev. Ladi Thompson said the two organisations were already talking with some South West governors and women of substance to join forces with them to relocate women and children in Chibok.

More than 200 girls were on April 14 abducted by the Islamist sect from their school. Some have escaped from their abductors’ den but scores still remain missing.
