Mother And Children, 7 Others Killed In Plateau Attack

Monday, July 14, attack on Zemadede and Tanlang villages of Langtang North LGA, Plateau State, claimed 10 lives.

Premium Times reports with reference to locals that a mother with her 2 children was among the deceased.

One of the residents who provided her name as Mrs. Hosiah said the attackers the mother and her children were killed in their home just as they tried to escape.

She added that in fear for their lives many locals fled to the neighbouring Pilgani village considered quite a safe place.

Beni Lar, representing the zone, confirmed the attacks while briefing journalists in Jos and expressed shock over the incident:

“It worrisome, that after experiencing relative peace in our localities for a while, the attacks are coming again.”

Meanwhile Plateau State police claimed they possessed no information about the incident and promised to contact the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in Langtang north for confirmation.

It would be recalled that last week the unidentified gunmen opened fire on Muslim worshippers in Jos South LGA of the state injuring 3 people.
