Police Rescue 10-year-old Boy From Kidnappers In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command said they rescued a 10-year-old boy and arrested one of the suspected kidnappers.

Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ngozi Braide, told NAN that three other suspects were arrested for cultism and armed robbery.

Braide said all the suspects were arrested in different parts of the state in the last five days.

She said that the policemen attached to Oworonshoki Division, on Monday rescued one Moses Idowu of Agbareju Street, Oworosoki, after one of the suspected kidnappers was arrested.

“One of the suspected kidnappers was mobbed by angry youths in the area, while others escaped before the police arrested him.

“The suspect had injured the victim while attempting to take him forcibly.

The suspect has been transferred to the State CID, Panti, for further investigation,” she said.

She said two suspected cultists were also arrested on Tuesday after a tip-off that a group of hoodlums suspected to be cultists assembled at Odo- Kekere area of Ikorodu.

“Policemen attached to Shagamu Road Division stormed the area and arrested two members of the group (names withheld), both of no fixed address while other members escaped.

“Items recovered from the hoodlums are one locally made pistol, four live cartridges, three axes and four handsets,” she said.

Braide added that one suspected armed robber whose gang invaded Havannah Hotel, Gowon Esate, was arrested on Monday, while others escaped.

She said the suspect was hit by a vehicle while attempting to escape with his gang members before he was arrested with one revolver pistol recovered from him.

“The suspect and his gang members attempted to rob a victim at the aforementioned hotel,” she said. [PMNews]
