Top sources have told Information Nigeria that the Argentine has agreed to a lucrative deal with Manchester United.

Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria is expected to complete a switch to Manchester United for a deal believed to be around as high as £60 million.

The 26-year old was initially linked to Paris Saint-Germain, but the player’s high-wages demands lead to a hitch in the proposed transfer.

With PSG pulling out, and Manchester City not interested, United have stepped up their bid and prepared to answer to whatever demands both club and player wants.

Information Nigeria understands that the Manchester club are prepared to match Di Maria’s £200,000-a-week wages and would listen to any transfer price Real Madrid are tabling.

Its expected that these formalities would be sorted out before Tuesday next week, paving way for medicals and unveiling latest Thursday.

Speculations on the Argentine’s departure was fueled when manager Coach Ancelotti, at a press conference, revealed the player snubbed an offer to remain at the club.

“The player has requested a transfer this summer. He rejected the club’s offer to stay at Madrid, so we are looking for a solution,” Ancelotti said.

“We will find a solution for Di Maria before the end of the transfer window, but he remains a Madrid player for now. We are in a situation that the player has to fix himself.

“I’m surprised that it seems as if we are not all in agreement about the situation, but this is not the case. We are all on the same line here.

“If Di Maria cannot find a solution for his future, he will stay here. We embrace him and he can continue to work here. There’s no problem.

The signing of Di Maria would rejuvenate a United setup in need of a creative player. After a successful pre-season, the team slumped to a 2-1 defeat to visitors Swansea in the opening fixture of the English Premier League, that left manager Louis van Gaal assuring the faithful to keep believing ahead of the second game against Sunderland on Sunday.
