Milan to host 2016 Uefa Champions League Final

Milan’s Estadio Giuseppe Meaza will host the 2016 Uefa Champions League final, European football’s governing body decided at a meeting of its executive committee in Nyon, Switzerland.

The final of the UEFA Europa League next season will be held in the Swiss city of Basel and that of the Super Cup in Trondheim in Norway, UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino announced following the meeting on Thursday.

The Champions League final game is scheduled for 28 May 2016 while the Europa League and Super Cup finals same year are slated for 18 May and 9 August respectively.

This will be the fourth time the Milan and its San Siro stadium host the Champions League final after 1965, 1970 and 2001.

The 2015 Champions League final is billed for Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
