Gombe Police Parades 22 Suspected Thugs, Recovers Dangerous Weapons

Nigeria-Police-Force13-300x277Ahead of the 2015 general elections, the Gombe State Police Command has warned politicians in the state against recruiting youths as thugs.

The state commissioner of police, Abdullahi Kudu Nma, gave the warning yesterday in Gombe when he paraded 22 suspected thugs.

The police boss said: “We resuscitated Patrol 99, not only because of politics, but because of a lot of complaints of hooliganism. Some miscreants are trying to resurface under the guise of yan kalare”.

Narrating how the suspects were arrested, Nma said, “Early this morning, we acted on a tip-off and arrested 22 people. We recovered dangerous weapons from them.

“I want to use this medium to urge politicians to conduct themselves appropriately during the campaigns”, he said.
