OPC Members Won’t Be Used For Election Violence In 2015 – Gani Adams

Gani-Adams-480x300The National Coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams, has assured that none of the members of the congress will be engaged as thugs by politicians as the country prepares for the 2015 general elections.

The OPC chieftain spoke during a meeting with members of the group in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He added that necessary empowerment programmes would be put in place by the group to ensure that its members were meaningfully and economically engaged to earn a living.

Otunba Adams noted that substantial amount of money had been set aside for the programme tagged ‘Oodua Economic Empowerment Initiative (OEEI), which, according to him, would begin in December.

According to him, each beneficiary would receive a minimum grant of N250, 000, adding that the empowerment was part of OPC’s contribution towards ensuring that politicians did not find in OPC members, handy tools for election violence.
