Eduok, Oshoala are MVPs for 2014 Federation Cup

Dolphins FC striker Emem Eduok and Rivers Angels markswoman Asisat Oshoala have each won the Most Valuable Players recognitions for the 2014 Federation Cup in the men’s and women’s competition respectively.

Enyimba International FC defeated Dolphins on Sunday while Rivers Angels doused previously high-flying Sunshine Queens’ hopes to both claim successive Cup triumphs at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Mfom Udoh and Christian Okwonkwo ended misfiring Dolphins’ ambitions, with Eduok’s solitary strike too little to overturn a 2-1 outcome.

The Super Eagles striker nonetheless finished the tournament with five goals; enough to earn him the MVP award for the 2014 Federation Cup.

Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup and 2014 AWC MVP Oshoala was among the two goal scorers in Rivers Angels’ 2-0 success over Sunshine Queens.

Ebere Orji emerged the highest goal scorer in the women’s Federation Cup with three goals.
