Enyimba Beat Dolphins to Retain Federation Cup

Enyimba International FC are winners of the 2014 Federation Cup after a 2-1 victory over Dolphins FC at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Sunday.

Both Glo Premier League sides failed to break the deadlock before the half-time break.

Mfon Udoh gave the Peoples Elephant the lead on 52 minutes. Chinonso Okonkwo doubled the two time African champions’ advantage in the 73rd minute.

  1. Great game!!! A match dolphin would have sealed in the first half of the game, emem who happens to be one of the game favourites took the game too personal and wanted glory for himself; where he had chances to flick the ball to a team mate but didn’t. Few accurate passes from dolphins though, but chances are more open to them than their opponents. Udoh scored a wonderful goal, a player who came with a team effort…team vision. The spirit of a football game is higher when a team shares a vision. Dolphins’ favourite star went for self glory, won it but lost d match….enyimba(though weak),shared a vision (retaining the cup)and they had it. To you emem…..team spirit is key! Love all you spirited young players. Cheers!!!
