No Boko Haram In Niger State – Police Commissioner

police-logoThe Niger State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Amore, on Monday debunked rumours of the presence of Boko Haram in Minna, the state capital, he explained that some residents were mistaking the activities of rival gangs that clashed near a public school in Kpagungu area of the capital for terrorist activity.

The police chief made the clarification while reacting to the Boko Haram scare and the panic that ensued following the clash between the Soje and Kpankungu community area boys within the premises of Limawa Primary and Secondary School in Minna.

We had earlier reported on Monday that pupils and students of the school scampered for safety in panic believing that they were Boko Haram members. The fear was understandable in light of recent Boko Haram attacks on schools in the state.

CP Amore added that the police have arrested seven suspects in connection with the clash, noting that they will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
