QPR’s Sandro Out Until New Year

Sandro

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) have announced that midfielder Sandro would be out of action until at least 2015.

The Brazilian, 25, was substituted in the 61st minute during his side’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle on Saturday and the club doctor, Peter Florida, has revealed he “suffered damage to medial ligaments in his right knee”.

The Premier League strugglers added the injury was not related to a previous anterior cruciate ligament problem.

Sandro joined the London club on transfer deadline day from city rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a move that reunited him with former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.

He has made eight Premier League appearances since his arrival at Loftus Road. QPR are currently bottom of the table, three points adrift of safety.
