Suswam Sacks 23 Council Chairmen In Benue

Gabriel-SuswamGovernor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State on Wednesday authorized the sack of all the 23 local government council chairmen in the state with immediate effect.

This was announced in a statement signed and broadcasted by Secretary to the State Government, Dr. David Salifu who urged all the affected council chairmen to immediately comply with the directive.

He further directed the sacked executives to quickly hand over the running of the affairs of their councils to the director generals of administration of all the affected local governments to forge ahead with the development initiatives of the areas.

The governor, however, acknowledged the loyalty, grassroots development and initiation of landmark projects to communities by the exiting chairmen during their stay in office, commending them for their sportsmanship and responsive leadership qualities.

  1. Whatever the reasons be, I don’t know. Since himselve has not mentioned any. All I still continue to cry out for is: we need good and grassroot education, basic life amenities, self sustaining infrastructures. Are we still the food basket of the Nation when farmers goods have no value and wasting away? I love my state. We must rescue our only state.
