Boko Haram Insurgency Will Soon End; Help Is On The Way – Sanusi

Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has expressed optimism that Boko Haram insurgency will soon end in Nigeria, as help is nigh.

“I say help is on the way. Terror must and will be defeated,” the monarch wrote on twitter yesterday, in a message believed to be referring to former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari.

“All it requires is the good leaders, uncommon courage and unrelenting determination, and victory will be ours.”

“We will together see the end of them and their reign of terror,” Sanusi wrote.

He also prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed as a result of insurgent attacks in the country.

Boko Haram had last month attacked the Kano Central Mosque where the emir prays, killing over 100 people, after setting off at least three bombs outside of the crowded mosque, a few minutes before the commencement of Friday’s J’umaat prayers. The emir was however out of the country at the time of the attack, but many believe he was the target of the insurgents because of his criticisms of their activities.

Sanusi is believed to be in support General Muhammadu Buhari, the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who has vowed to ensure Boko Haram insurgency ends in the country if he wins the 2015 presidential election.
