Hull’s Dawson Out for the Festive Period with Injury

Hull City defender Michael Dawson will be sidelined for at least three weeks with a hamstring tear, manager Steve Bruce has disclosed.

Scans revealed the former Tottenham centre-back, 31, suffered a grade two hamstring tear during last Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League defeat at Chelsea.

“It will be anything from three to four to five weeks minimum and it’s something that has happened too much to us,” said Bruce.

Dawson has missed four weeks of action already this season.

The Tigers are still without Robert Snodgrass who dislocated his kneecap in August, while fellow midfielder Mohamed Diame and striker Nikica Jelavic have been absent with knee problems.

Bruce continued: “From Snodgrass to Jelavic to Dawson to Diame – it’s been one thing after another in that department.

“We’ve got four or five out with horrible injuries, but we just have to get on with it.

“It’s part and parcel of the game, we keep saying that, but we could do with a little bit more luck with it.”

Dawson is set to miss Premier League clash with Swansea, Sunderland and Leicester City this month, Everton’s visit to the KC Stadium on New Year’s Day and the FA Cup third-round tie against Arsenal.
