CAN Asks Nigerians To Intensify Prayers Against Breakup

can_logoThe Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has asked Nigerians to intensify prayers against the breakup of the country.

The Chairman of CAN, Lagos State chapter, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, said only prayers could help defeat the plans of the enemies for the country in 2015.

A statement signed by CAN Secretary in the state, Israel Akindewo, said Apostle Bamgbola made the call while delivering the New Year message on behalf of the religious body on Sunday.

The statement noted that the call was made against the backdrop of a prediction purportedly made by the United States of America that Nigeria would disintegrate in the year 2015.

Bamgbola, while calling for prayers, said Nigerians should pray that such a prediction will not come to pass.

He also implored all Christians to remain united and more prayerful in the New Year, so as to defeat the devil, whom he described as the country’s greatest enemy.

He added, “With fervent and honest prayers, 2015 shall be a better year for us in Lagos State.

“All candidates of the different political parties in the forthcoming elections should let their campaigns be issue-based, devoid of unnecessary rancour and violence.

“I counsel that they should let the word of God, His wisdom and knowledge, guide their utterances before, during and after the elections”.

The Lagos CAN chairman also enjoined all “peace-loving people of Lagos State” to pray for peaceful and successful elections next month.
