Niger PDP Dismisses Report Of Defections As APC Propaganda

PDP-Members-Defect-To-APCThe Peoples Democratic Party in Niger State, on Sunday described the reported defection of members of the ruling party to the All Progressives CongressĀ as a mere propaganda by the opposition to mislead the electorate.

The deputy chairman of the party, Tanko Beji, who stated this in Minna, the state capital, said that he had no plan to leave the PDP and that no serving commissioner in the state was also planning on leaving party.

He said those alleged to have defected to the APC received the information with shock when a national daily published their alleged defection.

ā€œIt is important to clarify that the deputy chairman of the Niger State PDP and member of the state executive council of the Governor Babangida Aliyu-led administration have no plans to decamp to the opposition.Ā They remain committed to accomplishing the political interest of the PDP in the forthcoming general election.

ā€œIt is also instructive to state that those who left the Niger State PDP did so for their personal political interests. For the avoidance of doubt, therefore, the party is waxing stronger with more loyal and dedicated membersā€.
