Five people were on Monday injured in London when the roof of a double-decker bus was ripped off by an overhanging tree. UPI was there:

The 91 bus clipped a tree on its way down the Kingsway road in the city’s Holburn neighborhood. The roof of the bus was almost entirely peeled off in the collision.

“Those involved are very lucky to have escaped serious injury,” London Fire Brigade station manager Gary Squires said in a statement.

“It’s not something we deal with very often,” he told BBC News.

Of the five people injured, two were taken to the hospital with facial injuries.
