Six Chelsea Players Named in PFA Team of the Year

Six Chelsea FC players have been named in the PrOfessional Footballs Association’s Team of the Year.

Centre-halves Garry Cahill and John Terry, full-back Branislav Ivanovic, Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year contender Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic and goal king contender Diego Costa are all included in the team.

Others are: Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, Arsenal’s Lexis Sanchez, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea and Ryan Bertrand of Southampton.

Chelsea are on the verge of winning their fifth Premier League title, and maintain a ten point lead above second-placed Arsenal ahead of their London derby on Sunday.

Kane is one of four players to make the shortlist for both the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year prizes, alongside Man United keeper De Gee, forward Hazard and Liverpool’s attacking midfielder Coutinho.

Sanchez and Costa complete the senior list, while Chesea’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Raheem Sterling of Liverpool are the two other young player in contention for a PFA award.
