Alleged AIT Ban: The True Story From An AIT Staff, Lara Wise

8

This is what Lara wise of AIT had to say about the alleged ban on AIT.

I want to, this morning appeal to all Nigerians, friends on Facebook, pro GMB, pro GEJ, anti GMB, anti GEJ, but lovers of this our beautiful country called Nigeria, to ‘take it easy’ like we normally say here. Take it easy, people.
I have always said that the social media is a crazy place where irresponsible journalism is the norm. You don’t believe me? Just start a rumour on your wall and see how many people will share and even claim they were physically present when your rumour happened.
BUHARI BARS /BARNS AIT…
Thousands of you have shared this message. Let me ask you some questions.
Where was AIT barred from? What was the event? What is the name of the crew that went to cover the assignment? When and where did this happen?
I work in AIT so I’m privy to what some people are not but let me say this: this same AIT sent me to Daura to shoot a documentary on the president-elect. That is professionalism.
This same AIT foot the bill for this expensive project and gave me what I needed for this assignment.
This same AIT is working to see that the documentary meets international and professional standards and is already creating airtime for it.
While in Katsina state, some overzealous aides, friends and sympathisers of the president-elect reacted to my presence in their state. The emirate council? Oh! You guys don’t want to know how ‘God delivered Daniel from the lion’s den’, literally. At a point, I had to hide my official car and moved around in an unbranded vehicle for security reasons, okay?
But this same Buhari was informed that “AIT was on their soil” but his informants got the shock of their lives when he told them to allow us do our professional job. He told them to allow us access to whatever and whoever we needed to interview. At his command, we met everybody and spoke to them. In his family house, AIT was offered drinks but AIT turned down food because AIT was working. AIT took pictures with his sister, nephews and nieces.
I have gone ahead to tell these two stories to show that we are fighting over nothing!!!!
Absolutely nothing!!!!
Whatever happened during the build-up to the elections were for that time and period.
Those ‘aggrieved’ have forgiven and let go.
‘Offenders’ are doing the right thing now because the era of campaigns and lies are over!
After reading these stories, I do not expect anybody to be aggrieved anymore because the principal players have probably forgotten all about what happened.
We have bigger problems on our hands, people. Bigger problems.
Our Chibok girls are still missing, our refineries, hospitals, rail systems, schools, our pensioners, infant and maternal mortality rates, power, security, etc.
Tell me, is it possible to drive a car on a high speed and be looking back at the same time?
A few seconds on even the rear view mirror is recipe for disaster.
Friends, let’s keep our gaze on our mission.
Nigeria is bigger than any one of us.
God bless our dear country!

  1. Electioneering campaigns in Nigeria is all full of mudslingings and image denting publications.Personally,I don’t think media houses should join such for whatever reason for the sake of fair and balanced journalism. Its humane to err anyway and divine to forgive totally.

    • Like which media. Channel throughout the electioneering campaign was unbiased and objective in their reporting and activities. But AIT because of their chairman allowed themselves to be dragged into dirty politics of mudslinging and other unethical conducts. It’s a big shame.
And Also why did it take AIT this long to come up with a rebuttal. They saw the rumor when it started that APC had to reverse the President elect and then GMB came up to dissociate himself with such directive if any. Where was AIT and their crew all these while. What a shame for a TV station that was a toast of many before.

  2. Thank you for clearing the with the true version of the story. There are so many mischief makers who revel in creating misgivings between our leaders. Whether they like it or not, His Excellency, Dr. G. E. A. Jonathan, our outgoing Executive President has made a name no one can erase. Most importantly, himself and the President-elect, His Excellency, Gen. M. Buhari are working on a smooth transition for the good of Nigerians. Those who ‘harvest’ when there is trouble, should go to Somalia, C.A.R., Syria, etc. Our two leaders and the honest subordinates know better than to allow you to destroy the good opportunity God has given to Nigeria to build on our fledgling democracy.

  3. SMH…Its funny hw dis world is tho. So its now u guyz remember its time to move forward, rite? After pertaking in partisan jornalism. Anyway, am happy GMB remained steadfast & unshakened all thru d period d anti- buhari hate campaign documentary was being aired on AIT & NTA inclusive. He did d rite tin by forgivin AIT for d sake of forging forward & dat is d kind of change Nigerians are clamourin for. AIT shud jst go and cover their face in shame. #AITfallinFromGraceToGrass

  4. So, AIT, you’re confessing that you deliberately offended!!! So campaign time is that of lies? That is your exclusive belief. We await your post-election documentary and see where you head now, since you’ve lost fucus.

  5. So, AIT, you’re confessing that you deliberately offended!!! So campaign time is that of lies? That is your exclusive belief. We await your post-election documentary and see where you head now, since you’ve lost focus.

  6. Ait just said all Bigger problems while Ait just reverse her va gun to follow Mr Buhari now they can see l blessed God may God give devine wisdom to. Mr Buhari and his councils concerning this fine face people that will visit them

  7. Lara wise or what ever you call yourself should be ashamed. I pray Hod should touch GMB mind to forget and forgive if not I would have suggested total short down of AIT cuss you really disappointed Nigerians. My advise to AIT and his owner is to emulate the God work of Channels TV.

  8. AIT should be banned for unprofessionalism in Nigeria or they should be asked to pay $50b (fifty Billion Dollars) for damaging the image of our President-elect while CHANNELS TV should be our number 1 TV station in Nigeria. Useless AIT & NTA. They never imagined GMB winning the Election because of their selfish interest. This is a clear lesson to others

  9. We shld preach peace n reconciliation one naija, not crucify him. Election is over , politics slogan no permanent friend no permanent interest, many hv cross carpet some got it right why other fail is all polithinking. Let all support d president elect nigerian deserve better living, we can’t achieve that by castigating pdp supporters.

  10. leaders have to be in control in order to qualify as leaders. They must be in control of their aides, special assistants, wives ,relations etc. They must above all appoint honest, matured, intelligent, resourceful aides., or else their names will be tarnished inadvertently or intentionally. That was one drawback for jonathan administration.Buhari should in his atavistic and pugnacoous aides and townsmen. They tarnish his name ,they make a mockery of democratic dispensations ,taking us back to the twelfth century. As for other elected leaders with similarly pugnacious aides i say unto such leaders as well: hold your horses gentlemen!

  11. Hmmmm…. I can see my name sake has been given ‘the needed motivation’ to in deed clear the air. What do you think you’re doing ‘Lara? Even when the loudest noise maker Lai Mohammed apologised to Nigerians on this same issue? GMB himself NEVER denied it and you’re spewing trash? Enjoy your share ooooo

  12. Where AIT got it wrong was fabricating lies about GMB for sake of money, GMB may have forgiven you, but we that were offended too for false and fabricated offensive and hate documentaries about Buhari have not forgiven AIT, and as far as am concerned, am done with the station in my house. You think you are smart enough to dribble Nigerians because the elections were over, and you have no option needing GMB for patronage, the Dokpesi style, beg after you got what you wanted, regardless of how you did it or who you offended, as long as AIT smiles to the bank, you can beg for forgiveness, even prostrate the Dokpesi style. We will never bury the hatchet with AIT on this, because tomorrow again, it will come out with another offensive and hatred documentary against another person, I urge all lovers of GMB to take it personal with AIT on their irresponsible broadcast, so that tomorrow, they will not do it the Dokpesi style.
