NASIR-EL-RUFAIThe All Progressives Congress Transition Committee in Kaduna State has warned those it described as “impersonators” to henceforth desist from such act or risk prosecution.

Chairman of the committee, Malam Balarabe Lawal, on Monday, in a statement by Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the spokesman for the governor-elect Nasir el-Rufai, was quoted to have revealed that some elements were allegedly defrauding the public, using the committee as a launch-pad.

Mr. Lawal was also quoted to have warned that anyone found impersonating committee members or carrying out any illegal act in the name of the transition committee would apprehended and handed over to the relevant security agency for prosecution.

The statement read in part, “The chairman advised all government officials to focus on the imperative of preparing proper handover and briefing notes, rather than entertaining fraudsters. There are proper channels of communication between the outgoing and incoming administration and it is only proper that these are respected by officials in all ministries, departments and agencies of the Kaduna State Government.

“We are by this notice, appealing to all government agencies and the general public to disregard such subversive elements on sight and promptly alert the nearest security agencies.

“Any one with useful information regarding these impersonators and their collaborators should reach the transition committee secretariat”.
