Saraki Donates N3m To Victims Of Ilorin Violence, Says Perpetrators Won’t Go Unpunished

Bukola-Saraki-The Senator representing Kwara Central, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday said the recent mayhem unleashed on Ilorin residents was caused by “acrimony and animosity” of some miscreants.

It would be recalled that three people died while property worth millions of naira were razed, destroyed or damaged during the mayhem penultimate Friday at Agbarere and Ita-Ajia areas of Ilorin, the state capital.

The state police command has arrested no fewer than 140 suspects in connection with the fracas.

Saraki, who is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, spoke when he donated N3m to some victims, whose houses were razed in the violence.

The senator noted that the mayhem had unleashed untold hardships on the victims.

He warned the perpetrators to be ready to face justice, adding that the government would continue to prioritise the well-being of the people of the state.

The former governor, who was represented by a team of the Mandate campaign office, led by Alhaji Oba Olabintan, also rendered financial assistance to the Magaji-Are of Ilorin, Alh. Aremu Subair, whose vehicle was also vandalised by the miscreants.
