Kaduna State Governor-elect, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, Tuesday, said that all stolen money by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) must be refunded as soon as the incoming government of the All Progressive Congress (APC) ascends power on May 29.

In a speech by the former Minster of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), yesterday, when executive members of the National Union of Textile Garments and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN) paid him a courtesy visit in his private residence in Kaduna, el-Rufai said, “we will politely ask those who stole government money to return the funds”.

“This is because people who are in government now (PDP) are there to work for themselves but the APC government is made up of people who are ready to work for the masses and betterment of the country.

“We will work with the textile union to ensure that lives of the average Nigerians get better,” Vanguard quoted el-Rufai to have said.

Kaduna is home to The United Nigerian Textiles Company Limited which had more than 7,000 workers on its payroll before 2007 when it was shut down. Although it re-opened in 2010, it has been producing at very low capacity due to low patronage.
