Arsenal Set To Lose Jackson Martinez To Milan For £25m

Jackson Martinez has agreed to join AC Milan according to FC Porto president Pinto da Costa.

The Colombia international was a top target for Premier League club Arsenal until his agent hinted that a deal between FC Porto and the Rossoneri was “imminent.”

And president of the Portuguese club has now confirmed that the San Siro outfit a set to pay €35m (£25m) for the striker.

“I have just learned that Jackson Martinez has chosen AC Milan,” Da Costa told Porto Canal. “This is what he wants, I just want him to be happy. AC Milan will pay the €35 million ($39 million) clause.”

Martinez scored 31 goals in all competitions for Porto in 2014-15, including eight in nine Champions League matches.

The 28-year-old, who arrived from Chiaspas in 2012, has been top league goalscorer in each of his three seasons in Portugal.

He is currently on international duty in Chile ahead of Colombia’s Copa America opener against Venezuela on Sunday.
