The immediate past Minister of National Planning, Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman, yesterday described the emergence of Senators Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu as Senate President and Deputy Senate President respectively, as a blend of transformation and change.

The former minister said this in a statement issued in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital to congratulate the new Senate leaders.

“The critical support offered by the PDP lawmakers in the emergence of Senators Saraki and Ekweremadu clearly shows that the transformation agenda championed by Jonathan still has a place”.

Suleiman, who hails from the same Ajikobi ward of Ilorin West Local Government with Saraki, urged the new leadership of the National Assembly to support the executive in its effort to improve life in Nigeria.

“The unanimity of purpose demonstrated by the upper chamber again underscores the principle of separation of powers which is the hallmark of any democracy”, he added just as he prayed for God’s guidance of the new leadership.
