Buhari Still Has 6000 Appointments To Make – Presidency

PMB1President Muhammadu Buhari still has at least 6, 000 appointments to make, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu.
In an interview with Sahara TV on Saturday, Shehu, stressed that the president would be fair to all and called for patience from Nigerians, reassuring that there are more than 6,000 appointments to be made.
Buhari, who sacked the country’s service chiefs and National Security Adviser he inherited from ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday and dissolved the boards of many Federal Government parastatals across the country, has been criticised for not constituting his cabinet and appointing people into various boards of parastatals.
The president has also been accused of favouring the North in the few number of appointments he has made so far to the disadvantage of other sections of the country.
But his media aide said it would be unfair to judge the president by the few number of appointments he has made since assuming office, insisting that all sections of the country would be carried along under the present administration.
“I think President Muhammadu Buhari is sensitive to the diversity of this country. He has more than 6,000 appointments to make. Therefore, why would anybody use less than 10 appointments to judge the President on this matter? Again, it boils down to the lack of patience. This man is an experienced leader. Nigeria stands to gain from the accumulation of wisdom that he has garnered over his long life on earth. He has sworn to an oath that he’s a President of all.
“This government will make as many as 6,000 appointments. And he is bound, even if he doesn’t wish it, by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to reflect federal character”, Shehu explained.

  1. I know that Nigeria is complex and difficult to rule ,because of the many tribal difference between us, but President Burahi should carefully check out the background of the individual’s he’s going to choose from the number of people who are going to be lobing to gain access to seat of power. Nigeria ,can only move forward with people who have sound credentials and interest of improving our economic crisis ,not old generation of courp ,visonless people who are interested in milking our national resources dry. Nigeria still has intelligent people who have been making a name in there choose fields around the world.
